Breeding:
The white bundle monkey lives together in groups of from 2 to 20 animals. The
groups are led in each case by a male and a female with equal standing. Within
the group two separate rank orders are formed, according to gender. The
respective rank is fixed by means of fights or threatening actions together and
is held stable. Various impressive gestures like threatening with their teeth,
earflaps, upright body posture to a cat's hump also count to it, and not least
the mark of certain places with the secretion of scent of the gender glands.
White bundle monkeys are day-active animals. They move, while they jump like a
squirrel fast and cleverly from branch to branch. At night they sleep rolled up
in tree caves. As with most simian kinds the mutual fur care plays so also with
the white bundle monkeys an important role for the protection of the social
respect within the group. On this occasion, skin scales, parasites and foreign
bodies are licked off or removed with the fingers. Partially the mutual fur care
also walks at the head of the mating ritual. A group of white bundle monkeys
exists of both parental animals as well as their boys. Nevertheless, only both
parental animals provide for younger generation. The boys are suppressed from
that point of view, that to themselves their hormone production not further
develop. The pregnancy of the little claw monkeys sways between from 140 to
146 days and between the single births mostly from only 151 to 156 days lie.
Some weeks before the birth one sees a clearly thickened belly with the mother
animal. Twin's births are the norm with the white bundle monkeys. In triplet's
births the weakest boy will come as a rule after possibly one week, because the
breeding of the white bundle monkeys on two animals is laid out. The birth
itself lasts a total of approx. 1 hour and at night takes place. The distance
between the boys lies in the birth from approx. 2 to 10 minutes apart. The
afterbirth follows approx. 30 minutes after the birth of the last boy and is
eaten by the remaining members of the group.
The Young animals are supplied primarily by the father, but also by the other
members of the group and are carried. Only to the breast-feeding the animals are
brought back to the mother. After about 30 days the admission of steady food
occurs. The Jung's animals are nursed about to them are 100 days old. After
about 6 months, briefly before the new boys are born, the babies are cured by
the mother. In the next birth they learn already themselves the young breeding.
After from approx. 15 to 18 months they are ripe for gender.
They were caught there once to thousands and were exported to Europe, North
America and Asia. In the mouth area of the Amazon, in the area of Buenos Aires
and in Central America they have disclosed new living spaces.
Little white bundle monkeys are cultural followers who are also to be found
in plantations and parks.
Cage:
These pictures of another web page point what the small little monkeys have
for a place need.
A ' normal' cage never is enough. On the side about our little monkeys you
can see what is the big cage already for a single animal the minimum. At this
point I would like to stress once more that primates not only should be held if
not constantly contact with other little monkeys or members of the family exists.
