Our Sugar Glider |
| |
 |
|
We have had our Sugi’s since the beginning of 2003 A friend of us who has
a very tame little man was "guilty" for it. This so inspired us that we
absolutely wanted to have such animals. Before everything was prepared for
the newcomers, a cage was organized, books bought, informed on the
Internet and a breeder was searched for. We got the animals then from a
private breeder from Rückmarsdorf. These are two wonderful girls who, in
the meantime, have become very tame and devoted. |

The first cage was from several
floors and was partially glassed. |

The whole room took on bit by bit the smell of the waste, so that we
looked for another alternative. In the end, I myself built a big cage with
the measures B/H/T 1.50 m / 1.10 m / 0.60 m. This has only a basic frame
which is covered on the inside with galvanized gauze. The whole wood was
varnished with a wood protection glaze (for toys!!). The ground was sealed
with laminate that also has the advantage of being easy to clean besides
protecting before the penetration of urine. With 2 big doors in the front,
one easily comes to every place and it can be easily cleaned. The other
cage is used, in the meantime, for our 2 chinchillas, including another
extension. |

Our Sugis have exercise 3-4 times per week. The favorite activity is to
climb in the door frame (plastic!) and then to glide in my direction. This
also shows the high need of the animals to move. Who does not want to
spend this time or isn’t able to, shouldn’t buy himself a Sugar Glider! |

pocket. |
